A self-custodial alternative to Coinbase Commerce

Coinbase Commerce closed on 31 March 2026. Its successor, Coinbase Business, holds your funds and is open only to companies in the United States and Singapore. If you chose Commerce because the money stayed in your own wallet, Stablevoy works the same way.

What changed at Coinbase

According to Coinbase, the Commerce portal became inaccessible after 31 March 2026, and Commerce was unified with Coinbase Business. Business is a custodial platform: Coinbase holds the funds on the merchant's behalf. It is built around USDC, and it is open only to businesses with a legal entity in the United States or Singapore and a business bank account.

Merchants outside those two countries were asked to move to another provider. Coinbase also says that merchants who valued the self-custodial nature of Commerce may not find Business the right fit. The details are on Coinbase's help page "Transitioning from Coinbase Commerce to Coinbase Business".

What stays the same with Stablevoy

  • The money goes to your own wallet. Each payment arrives at its own deposit address, a contract that can only forward the funds to your payout wallet. If Stablevoy ever went offline, you could still move them yourself from a block explorer.
  • No company check. You sign in with your wallet, set where the money goes, and start. There are no documents to send.
  • Worldwide. Stablevoy is open everywhere except sanctioned countries and regions.
  • Payment links for invoices you send by hand, and a REST API with signed webhooks for your own checkout.
How the contracts keep your money safe

What is different

Stablevoy accepts only dollar stablecoins: USDC and USDT, on Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche and Tron. It does not accept Bitcoin, ETH or the other assets Commerce took. There is no conversion to fiat either: the stablecoins arrive in your wallet, and you decide what to do with them.

USDT on Tron is paid straight to your own wallet, with no contract in between and no fee from Stablevoy.

USDT on Tron with no fee

Price

Coinbase lists a 1% transaction fee for Commerce, and 1% for merchants moving to Business. Stablevoy charges first 1,000 USD free, then 0.5% per payment, taken on chain when the funds are forwarded, and the contract never allows more than 2%. USDT on Tron has no fee. There is no monthly fee and no setup fee.

How we compare with other gateways

Moving from Commerce

  1. Sign in to the Stablevoy dashboard with your wallet and set your payout address.
  2. Create a store. On WooCommerce, install the Stablevoy plugin and connect it in one click; for your own checkout, create an API key.
  3. Where your code created a Commerce charge, create a Stablevoy invoice with POST /v1/invoices and send the buyer to its payment page.
  4. Where you handled Commerce webhooks, handle the Stablevoy ones: they are signed with HMAC, and the SDKs for PHP, Node.js and Python verify them for you.
  5. Send a small test payment and watch the order turn paid.

Questions

Is Stablevoy custodial?

No. Payments go to deposit addresses that can only forward the funds to your payout wallet, and on Tron the buyer pays your own wallet directly. Stablevoy never holds a balance for you.

Do I need a registered company or KYB?

No. You sign in with your wallet. There is no company check and no documents to send.

Can I accept Bitcoin like on Commerce?

No. Stablevoy accepts only USDC and USDT. If you need Bitcoin, look at a gateway built for it, such as BTCPay Server.

What about the funds in my old Commerce wallet?

That is between you and Coinbase. Coinbase's help page says the Commerce withdrawal tool was disabled after 31 March 2026 and that funds may still be reachable with the wallet's seed phrase. For help, contact Coinbase support.
